2024 - 25 Courses

[K - 10] MathWiz and ReadingWiz - 2024 - 25 Year-Long Program (Once a Week Bundled)

MathWiz for Elementary

The MathWiz year-long program is designed to help students understand pre-algebra and algebra concepts and further enrich their investigative and reasoning skills. The course is offered in in-person and online formats, with flexible weekday and weekend options. These sessions follow both state and national standards and provide a strong foundation for middle school math. The program teaches students to broaden their knowledge by working on challenging problems with real-life applications and conducting self-paced investigations.

During these sessions, students work closely with instructors and are placed in grade-appropriate groups based on their math proficiency. As a result of this program, our students consistently demonstrate significant progress in the verbal, nonverbal, and quantitative batteries of the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) and the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) tests.

Curriculum

MathWiz for Middle-School

MathWiz offers a year-long course in algebra that emphasizes problem-solving and logic, helping students develop a comprehensive understanding of algebraic concepts. By completing the course, students will have acquired the skills required to start Algebra I and pursue more advanced math tracks.

The course reinforces each new concept by providing increasingly complex problems to solve. Class sessions involve in-person lectures, assignments, customized web-based exercises, periodic quizzes, and graded assessments. In the event of campus closure due to unforeseen emergencies, classes will be conducted online.
